1099 IT Consultant [back to top]

Our company is in the midst of a reorganization and we are looking for a few great IT professionals with availability during the week (8a-6p) to perform computer maintenance, network configurations and other on site activities.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for other IT professionals (1099 consultants) that have an established business and to supplement their non-billable hours. offer great customer service, technical knowledge want establish a reoccurring monthly income check from us.

What You Will Do

  • Inventory of network devices on a periodic basis
  • Perform reinstalls of Windows XP/Vista
  • Computer, server and network hardware diagnostics
  • Install new computers, hardware or other network equipment
  • Provide information to our technical team and/or update information via web
  • BONUS for Exchange 200x Certification
  • BONUS for Windows 200x Certification

How It Works

When our customers have a problem that cannot be solved remotely, our help desk would contact you via email or telephone asking you if you are available. If you are available, we forward you the ticket - you resolve the problem (or bring it back to a remotely accessible state) and you are done.

Your Requirements

  • You must have the A/N+ certifications.
  • You must have an established customer base.
  • You must have reliable transportation.
  • You must have a great personality and a desire to help customers.

Talk With Great Customers Who Have Easy Computer Problems...

Most of the time...Other times, the computer problems are a bit more involved but our customers are still great!

If you have some technical experience working with customers remotely, can work in a relaxed environment AND have a helpful, friendly personality - we need you!

Our growing computer networking service business is in the need of a few helpdesk technicians that meet the above objectives. The key to our success is our helpful, friendly staff and the ability to talk with them like human beings and without the geek-speak.

Ideally, we would like technicians with the CompTIA A+ and N+ certifications, but we will train the right candidate.

Your Responsibilities

  • Create a helpdesk ticket for all customer requests, i.e. phone, voicemail or email request
  • Respond to customers according to the specific Service Level Agreement in place
  • Work with customers to diagnose, troubleshoot and fix Windows 2000, Windows XP, networking, email, printing and MS Office problems.

Qualifications

  • Must have a helpful, friendly personality to work with customer
  • Must have excellent oral and written commuications skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • A+ and/or N+ certification recommended
  • Some experience working with Windows networking; MS Office products; Email (SMTP, POP, Outlook)

Our Responbsibilities

  • Supply technician with a web-based helpdesk tracking system for all helpdesk tickets, customer inventory, workflow
  • Supply customers with an easy-to-use remote control option
    for remote support
  • Supply technicians with a VoIP telephones to be able to work from home
  • Always-on corporate network, complete with email, printing,
    IRC and other technologies to make our jobs easier
  • Customer documentation for the customers you will be
    working with
  • Fast-paced, but relaxed work environment

For the first month or so, the candidate will work from our office. Individuals that display all qualifications will be given the ability to work from home.

This is a full-time position with support hours from 12noon - 8PM, Monday-Friday.

In the computer support business, you are either selling hours to your customers, which is, in the customer's eyes, an expense - or you are supporting your customers IT needs on a monthly basis with a managed support agreement, which is, in the customer's eyes,
an asset.

We are not a break-fix company - we are an outsourced IT department. This makes the relationships with our customers more solid - more committed. Which means they continue to receive the same great support month after month and we keep receiving a consistent cash flow month after month.

As a top candidate, here's what you'll need to have:

  • The desire to satisfy the customer
  • Deliver technical knowledge in human terms
  • Be attentive to customer's needs and recognize opportunities
  • Establish and follow monthly and quarterly 'touches' to customers
  • The ability to create, establish and nurture at least 5 different lead generation sources within 3 months
  • Willingness to go to networking events, 2 events per month would be recommended
  • Ability to brainstorm about new ways to sell managed services

We are building a sales team in Connecticut that will blanket the
state with customer education, providing solutions and supporting
the Connecticut small business market with our managed support agreements.

Roll Up Your Sleeves - Get Your Hands Inside a PC Network

We are an outsourced IT department that is taking on many new clients and we are looking for a PC technician that can handle on-site field support and remote support when in the office.

Our company is looking for a remote/on-site technician to handle with the following tasks:

  • Provide PC computer or network problems (travel required)
  • Assist on-site with project or installation with Windows networks
  • Fill-out customer inventory and use asset tags for all equipment
  • Assist with monthly reoccuring remote tasks

In our business, there are many different forms of competition - we recognize that we are smart, intelligent and can converse with our customers in human terms.

Ask yourself if you have the following mandatory skills:

  • Oral and written communications - this means your resume
  • Customer service - we can teach technical, customer service needs to be within

If so, here is a list of technical skillsets we want to see:

  • A+/N+ certifications
  • Windows XP Experience
  • Microsoft Server 2000/2003 Experience
  • Internet connectivity problem problem solving

This position is designed to support both the onsite and remote problems, so travel is required. Our customer base is mostly in Connecticut - but we occasionaly travel to MA, RI, NY and NJ.

This position would allow you the flexibility of working from your home office when there is no field work to be done. During this time, you will assist with remote support from our helpdesk.

We are an outsourced IT department that is taking on many new clients and we are looking for a network engineer that will help provide customers with all level 2 issues, network management and monitoring, assisting with maintenance issues and onsite server related issues.

Our company is looking for a remote/on-site technician to handle with the following tasks:

  • Provide support for all level 2 PC computer or network problems (travel required)
  • Lead project for any rollout for your customer
  • Manage multiple different customer environments
  • Fill-out customer inventory and use asset tags for all equipment
  • Assist with monthly reoccurring remote tasks
